I usually have a trouble with titles. Okay, the last two were easy, but I usually scratch head when I see the cursor blinking in the title box and think "Ech, I will figure it out later".
So we all survived Omar, but God, I think I can stand to go an entire year without having to go throught that again. It was crazyness compressed in a small area of land.
When I last wrote that post I did make it to work, eventually. Some people didn't. Too much flooding going on. Anyway, I just got to work and I get this phonecall:
phone: ring ring
ag: This is arubagirl
mom: Hey, I've had a brilliant idea
ag: And that is?
mom: why don't you come to Colombia
ag: . . . Well, I have work and I am dogsitting . . .
mom: No, silly, for the weekend. You can leave Friday and come back Sunday with me
ag: . . .
mom: I'll pay half the ticket
ag: okay, I'll see if I can get a seat, it's pretty short notice. I'll call the travel agency once they open
mom: okay
<ag works> <mom plots>
<half an hour later>
phone: ring ring
ag: this is arubagirl
mom: Okay, you're all set, I called the airline, you're booked for Friday and returning Sunday
ag: . . .
mom: Bye!
phone: beep beep beep
And that's how I ended up spending last weekend in Bogota, Colombia. An acquaintance was impressed by the exotic sound of it, but this person lives in the Netherlands. I was more like, uhm, okay, I'm going to Colombia??
I have to say, I was completely impressed. People were courteous, almost to a fault, the hospital room is a suite (where my uncle stayed), the hotel was lovely, the food was simply delicious, and the weather was crisp and cool.
I wouldn't mind going back there to see the sights, but I'm happy I got the chance to go.
Tomorrow my uncle operates his heart and next week his tumor. God be with him.

Seems all parents are alike somehow
Hahahahaha
At least you got noticed in advance

Wishing your uncle God's grace.
I'm in China right now missing my family in the States. So I know how important family is.
